Fees
Transparent flat fees for basic estate plans.
I believe in transparency, because trust is where every good plan begins. So I publish my flat fees for basic Florida estate plans, and you are not left guessing. Payment over time is available.
Essentials
For every adult. The documents that speak for you while you are alive but unable.
Durable power of attorney · Designation of health care surrogate · Living will · HIPAA authorization
Will Plan
For simpler estates, renters, and families who want a will that says who receives what.
Everything in Essentials, plus a will
Trust Plan
For homeowners and families who want a trusted person ready to step in, and property placed in the trust to pass without probate.
Everything in Essentials, plus a revocable living trust, a pour-over will, and written instructions for placing your accounts in your trust
Add to any plan: a guardian designation for minor children, $295.
Add to the Will Plan or Trust Plan: a pet trust for horses or other animals, $495.
Every plan includes a planning meeting by video, by phone, or in person, as appropriate, and a Signing Party where your documents are signed, witnessed, and notarized with every formality Florida law requires.
How payment works
Half of the fee is paid to begin, and half when your documents are ready to sign. Payment over time is also available; the final payment is due before your Signing Party. Your fee and how you will pay it are set out in a written engagement letter before any work begins.
Costs
Printing, copies, and your document binder are included in the fee. Notarization by me is $5 per notarial act. If you choose to use another notary or witnesses, any fee they charge is yours to pay. Overnight or courier delivery, if you ask for it, is billed at the carrier's charge.
Deeds
I do not prepare deeds. If your plan calls for a new deed to your home, I will refer you to counsel who handles that. Their fees, and any recording fees, are separate.
Basic plans
These fees are for basic plans for one person or a married couple living in Florida. Situations that may mean an additional fee include, among others, a blended family, a beneficiary with special needs, business interests, property outside Florida, custom terms, and additional meetings or revisions.
